Hi there. My name’s Opus Moreschi. I’m going to try to do one new thing every single day for a year.

It’s not like I haven’t done interesting things. I think I have. For example, I have:

Played with a baby tiger

Rapped on national television with saxophonist Kenny G

Lived in Europe

Spent an entire day dressed as Santa Claus

Held a log cabin made entirely out of slim-jims

But I also feel like I should be doing more. So I am starting this project. Suggestions are welcome at suggestions [at allnewyear [dot com.

Going into something like this, I realize, it’s important to have a set of rules to play by. So I have come up with the following:

I must try one new thing every day (duh).

Whether or not I succeed at this thing is not important, as long as I have given it a genuine effort.

Multiple-day experiences can count for multiple days as long as effort is given on each day (no “Growing a beard” for a month).

I should attempt at least one huge thing every week

I will attempt to incorporate as many suggestions as possible

Will I do it? Will I go crazy? Perhaps both. Please, stay tuned, we will find out together.
