Hahahaha! Oh man I could watch that video for days. We did it! We took our badasses, drove to Perris, CA, got excited, waited, got poopy, ate, and then got wooshed away in an airplane to skydive from it. And then we flew to the ground like brave, brave angels. You might as well jump, Opus. You might as well jump.
I’m proud of you too, Opus. And of myself, Patty, Zabeth, and especially Jennie C-C, who looked more nervous than I’ve ever seen her on the plane ride up to 13000 feet!
Jennie’s right. This video does not get any less funny. You make the BEST face right before jumping out of the plane. It’s simultaneously angry/stern, resigned, and scared shitless. I love it.
Opus. Sully here, wow, I’m impressed. I used to do that in the military, but normally I had lots of help from an NCO usually named something like “grits” or “theotis” who put a size 14 parachute boot up my butt to get me out of the airplane. Things are much more civilized these days. Although, as I think about it, and looking at the tandem jump, I don’t think I would like Grits to be in quite such close contact. Not that I wouldn’t trust him, but still, my butt cheeks harden up in a defensive posture just thinking about it. Congrats. S

Way to go!!! I’ve been skydiving and even have done more than a few base-jumps for the last 13 or 14 years, but it is always great to see that persons 1st time. Here’s hoping you get addicted to the sport. Hey, never say goodbye in a letter or e-mail without saying “Blue Skies and Soft Landings.” Have fun…

But you’re alive! Hurray! Congratulations! Was your Grits a girl? So much for butt-cheek defensive posture…
